Pickleball Retirement

It was an ordinary August morning in Charlottesville. Four men in their sixties and seventies stepped onto a pickleball court carrying sore knees, quiet worries, and the slow drift of retirement. By the time the last point was played they had rediscovered something modern life tries to erase: the need for challenge, companionship, and a reason to wake before sunrise.

They did not come looking for a longer life.

They came looking for a life worth getting out of bed for.

A novel about purpose after the trophies are put away, friendship forged point by point, and the quiet courage of refusing to stop becoming.
